CAABWA’S WORK IN AFRICA

Since 2001, CAABWA has led an Internship Program that facilitates partnership and capacity building for African women business organizations as well as opportunities for university students to gain useful insights on development processes.

  • CAABWA has supported over 55 interns in Ethiopia, Cameroon, Ghana, Mozambique, Mauritius, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Cameroon, Uganda, Nigeria and Eswatini.

  • 5 interns were placed with CAWEE for 3-6 months, over an eight year period

  • Interns worked with CAWEE on ACCESS - a training and mentorship program for African Business Women in International Trade; and COMESA/CIDA/ITC program PACT - Program for Building African Capacity for Trade

University of Toronto International Development Co-op Specialist Program

The IDS program at UofT provides students with a critical understanding of international development issues through exposure to a variety of academic disciplines, cultures, and an 8-12 month overseas work placement in the Global South.

CAABWA and UofT’s International Development Co-op Specialist Program have successfully facilitated 4 internships in Eswatini since they established their partnership in 2016.
